About the Event

Exeter, NH- The U.S. is experiencing a recent uptick in book challenges by various groups, adversely impacting our schools and libraries. In an effort to educate the public about this wave of challenges–and what it means for our communities–the Racial Unity Team will be co-hosting a panel discussion with the Exeter Public Library and Oyster River Equity & Justice on Tuesday, September 20 from 6:30-7:30 pm on the Mezzanine level of the Exeter Public Library.

Topics covered by this dynamic panel will range from the history of book censorship in the U.S. to how recent laws passed in New Hampshire have raised concerns about community access to ideas. In addition, the panel will offer participants thoughtful strategies for how to respond to such challenges. This event is free and open to the public. To learn more, visit racialunityteam.com.
